Ong Hock Chuan of Maverick Indonesia Joins PRCA Asia Pacific Regional Board

Jakarta, November 9, 2022 Ong Hock Chuan, Managing Partner of Maverick Indonesia, has been appointed to the Public Relations & Communications Association (PRCA) Asia Pacific Regional Board for the 2022/2023 term.
He is the only PR professional from Indonesia among the 12 regional board members, marking an important milestone for Indonesia’s representation in the Asia-Pacific public relations and communications community.
Ong’s inclusion in the board recognizes both his leadership and Maverick Indonesia’s longstanding contribution to advancing strategic communication and professional standards in the region.

About PRCA Asia Pacific Regional Board

The PRCA Asia Pacific Regional Board serves as a formal consultation platform for senior leaders across the communications industry. Acting as a think tank for the PR sector, the board discusses key issues affecting communications professionals—such as diversity, mental health, client-agency relations, and professional development.
It also advises on strategic priorities and promotes ethical, effective, and purpose-driven communication practices to strengthen the credibility of the industry worldwide.

About Ong Hock Chuan

Ong Hock Chuan co-founded Maverick Indonesia in 2002 with Lita Soenardi, who continues to serve as Partner.
Before establishing Maverick, Ong spent 14 years as a journalist in Malaysia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Indonesia, followed by four years leading Ogilvy PR operations in Indonesia and later Singapore.

A seasoned strategic communications consultant, Ong has advised clients through complex issues in crisis management, litigation, and brand strategy. He is also a skilled trainer in media handling, crisis management, and interpersonal communication.
Ong is a Press Fellow at Wolfson College, Cambridge, and a mentor at Endeavor Indonesia, supporting sustainable entrepreneurship and leadership development.
