Purpose of the Role
This role functions as Maverick’s in-house editor, reporter and content producer. Capturing, shaping, and publishing stories from our everyday work: publicity wins, consultant expertise, events, insights, and internal initiatives. You’ll operate like a compact newsroom: identifying stories, producing content yourself when needed, and coordinating others to deliver high-quality pieces that elevate Maverick’s brand and credibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Story Hunting & Editorial Judgement
- Act as Maverick’s “reporter”; spotting newsworthy angles from our client work, campaigns, events, and internal activities.
- Interview consultants and/or clients, gather insights, and turn raw updates into compelling narratives.
- Shape story angles grounded on journalistic instincts and brand relevance.
- Hands-On Content Production
- Write or coordinate the writing of blog posts, articles, short case studies, and press releases.
- Script and produce simple but effective videos (talking-head, short explainers, recaps).
- Capture basic footage or direct others in the team to do so.
- Edit drafts into clean, credible, publication-ready pieces.
- Coordination & Workflow Management
- Maintain and enforce a monthly content calendar.
- Coordinate with Partners, consultants, and design/video freelancers when needed.
- Ensure all content is reviewed, approved, and published on time.
- Publishing & Distribution
- Upload content to Maverick’s website, social platforms, YouTube, and media mailing lists.
- Repurpose stories into suitable formats (blog to LinkedIn carousel, video to reels, etc.).
- Ensure content are generative-engine-optimized
- Track amplification opportunities and cross-posting with internal teams.
- Performance Measurement & Evaluation
- Track basic metrics (traffic, engagement, views, GEO) and suggest improvements.
- Report monthly on performance, gaps, and opportunities.
Ideal Profile
- Former journalist or digital content producer.
- Strong writing and interviewing skills with a thirst for stories.
- Comfortable producing simple videos (shooting + editing).
- Familiar with AI tools, such as ChatGPT and Gemini ecosystem, to generate writing, images, and/or audio.
- Able to work independently, juggle multiple stories, and deliver fast.
- Curious, proactive, and willing to dive into various industries.
